Siobhan Stagg has been appointed ‘Artist in Association’ with the West Australian Symphony Orchestra (WASO) for their 2019 season. Siobhan will join the orchestra for several programs throughout the year, singing repertoire including Ravel Sheherazade, Poulenc Stabat Mater, Strauss songs and Verdi Requiem, all conducted by WASO’s Chief Conductor, Asher Fisch.
Siobhan remains a principal soloist at the Deutsche Oper Berlin in 2018/19, singing Micaëla Carmen, Gilda Rigoletto, Adele Die Fledermaus Pamina Die Zauberflöte.
Guest engagements in 2018/19 include her U.S debut at the Lyric Opera of Chicago as Cinderella (see below), her debut at Festival Aix-en-Provence, concerts with the Orchestre des Champs-Élysées, Royal Liverpool Philharmonic, St Louis Symphony Orchestra and Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, and a return to the Salzburg Festival. The Lyric Opera of Chicago has just announced its 2018/19 season.
Siobhan makes her U.S. debut in the title role of Massenet’s CENDRILLON (Cinderella) in Dec 2018 / Jan 2019.
Siobhan stars opposite Alice Coote as Prince Charming in the beautiful Laurent Pelly production, seen previously at the Metropolitan Opera and the Royal Opera House, London. Sir Andrew Davis conducts.

Siobhan Stagg will make her company and role debut as the tragic heroine Mélisande in Debussy’s mesmerising opera, Pelléas et Melisande.

NEW SEASON ANNOUNCED IN BERLIN 2017/18
Siobhan returns to the Deutsche Oper Berlin for three role debuts in the upcoming season. You can see her as Musetta in the Götz Friedrich production of LA BOHEME, Zerlina in DON GIOVANNI and Contessa Folleville in a new production of Rossini’s opera VIAGGIO A REIMS.

ROLE DEBUT — MARGUERITE DE VALOIS — BERLIN
January / February 2017: After six weeks in Amsterdam, Siobhan returned to her ‘artistic home’ at the Deutsche Oper Berlin for her role debut as Marguerite de Valois in David Alden’s new production of Meyerbeer’s Les Huguenots.

FRENCH DEBUT: OPERA DE DIJON & PHILHARMONIE DE PARIS
Siobhan recently made her French debut as Pamina in Die Zauberflöte with Les Talens Lyriques conducted by Christophe Rousset. The team performed a new production by director David Lescot in Dijon, and then in concert at the Paris Philharmonie in April. The performance was broadcast on France Musique radio.
HOUSE DEBUT: DUTCH NATIONAL OPERA (AMSTERDAM)
December / January 2017: Siobhan began the new year as Blonde in Johan Simons’ production of Die Entführung aus dem Serail in Amsterdam, co-starring Paul Appleby (Belmonte), Lenneke Ruiten (Konstanze), David Portillo (Pedrillo), Peter Rose (Osmin) and Steven van Watermeulen (Selim) with the Netherlands Chamber Orchestra conducted by Jeremie Rhorer. The performance was broadcast live on Dutch Radio – you can listen back via NPR Radio 4.
October / November 2016: Siobhan made her debut as Gilda in Rigoletto at the Deutsche Oper Berlin, starring KS Markus Brück in the title role and Yosep Kang as the Duke of Mantua. July / August 2016
Siobhan began the summer performing as guest artist for Roberto Alagna‘s highly anticipated Australian tour for three grand-scale orchestral concerts at the Sydney Opera House, Arts Centre Melbourne and the Brisbane Convention Centre. Read the reviews here.

DER ROSENKAVALIER — Deutsche Oper Berlin
Siobhan made her debut as Sophie in Der Rosenkavalier at the Deutsche Oper Berlin in April 2016 opposite Daniela Sindram as Octavian. The Orchestra of the Deutsche Oper Berlin was conducted by Ulf Schirmer. Read the reviews here.
Shortly before the big debut, Siobhan was featured in the Berliner Morgenpost in a ‘home visit’ article by Kai Luehrs-Kaiser.
Siobhan played Morgana in David Bösch’s new production of ALCINA for the Grand Théâtre de Genève, which premiered in February to great acclaim. Baroque specialist Leonardo Garcia Alarcon conducted a stellar cast starring Nicole Cabell in the title role, Monica Bacelli as Ruggiero and Kristina Hammarström as Bradamante.
After a breakthrough year in Europe, Siobhan Stagg was nominated in Limelight’s Australian Artist of the Year Awards in October 2015.
BRAHMS’ REQUIEM WITH CHRISTIAN THIELEMANN AND THE BERLIN PHILHARMONIC
Siobhan’s big break came when she stepped in as soloist for three sold-out concerts of Brahms’ Requiem with the Berlin Philharmonic conducted by Christian Thielemann. In the official press-release announcing the replacement, Christa Ludwig was quoted describing Siobhan’s voice as “one of the most beautiful I’ve ever heard.” Read the announcement here.

Siobhan received rave reviews for her Royal Opera House debut, stepping in at short notice to sing the title role in Luigi Rossi’s ORPHEUS.
Directed by Keith Warner and conducted by Christian Curnyn, this special co-production took place by candlelight at the Sam Wanamaker Playhouse at Shakespeare’s Globe in London.
Swiss debut – Beethoven FIDELIO at the Grand Théâtre de Genève
Siobhan made a “spellbinding” debut as Marzelline in the new production of FIDELIO in Geneva, directed by Matthias Hartmann and conducted by Pinchas Steinberg. The press raved about Siobhan’s performances – read the reviews here.
Siobhan thrilled the audience and critics alike as Dede in Leonard Bernstein’s opera A QUIET PLACE, in concert with Kent Nagano and Ensemble Modern. Read the first reviews here.
After her success playing Cordelia in LEAR (Aribert Reimann), Siobhan returned to the Hamburg State Opera to make her role debut as Blonde in Mozart’s Entführung aus dem Serail in April 2015 under Kristiina Poska.
SUCCESS IN 2014 INTERNATIONAL BELVEDERE COMPETITION
Siobhan was awarded the Prize of the International Media-Jury in the Final of the 2014 Hans Gabor Belvedere Singing Competition, held at the Deutsche Oper am Rhein in Düsseldorf on Sunday 6 July.
Axel Kober conducted the Duisburger Philharmoniker in the final concert.

February 2014: SUCCESS IN SALZBURG — INTERNATIONAL MOZART COMPETITION
Siobhan was awarded Second Prize and the Special Prize for the Best Interpretation of a song by Richard Strauss in the 11th International Mozart Competition in Salzburg. First Prize went to German baritone Matthias Winckhler and Third Prize was awarded to Austrian mezzo soprano Sophie Rennert. The Finalists were accompanied by Camerata Salzburg conducted by Hans Graf, and in the song section by pianist Gaiva Bandzinaite.

Fresh from two months at the Salzburg Festival as part of the Young Singers Project, Siobhan joins the Deutsche Oper Berlin as one of five new young artists for the 2013/14 season.
Siobhan opens the season as Woglinde in Das Rheingold and Waldvogel in Siegfried in Wagner’s Ring cycle conducted by Sir Simon Rattle.
